These satisfyingly crisp treats are the perfect companions to a hot cup of tea on a rainy day. This Pakistani staple dish is a must-have as any Iftar is incomplete without a variation of this. The popularity of pakoras lies not only in their unique flavour profile, but also in their affordability. This weekend, we say give into the craving all over again because we’ve got a delicious Pakora Recipe for you to try. Surely they will be loved by everyone not only in ramadan but also in other days. These make a good weekend or evening hi tea snack and can be made easily even when you have guests at your home. Dip in freshly made chutney and lose yourself to the crunch.
Ingredients Of OK Crunchy Pakora Mix:
- Mint Flakes
- Coriander Leaves Flakes
- Spinach Flakes
- Red Chilli Flakes
- Cumin Seeds
- Dried Coriander Seeds
- Garlic Powder
- Carom Seeds
- Chat Masala
- Salt
- Green Chilli Flakes
- Gram Flour
Ingredients Required:
Potato 500gm (shredded)
Onion 150gm (chopped)
Cooking Oil for deep frying
Yogurt 1 – 2 tbsp
Method:
- In a bowl, mix shredded potatoes, chopped onions, yogurt and OK Crunchy Pakora Mix. Add water as required to form a thick paste. The consistency of the batter should not be very thick nor very watery. Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan until bubbles appear on a wooden spoon held in the fat.
- Drop tsp-sized portions of the mixture into the oil and fry until golden yellow.
- Drain on kitchen paper.
- Serve with any of your favourite chutney, yogurt sauce and tomato ketchup.
- Makes 35 – 40 Pakoras.
