Areca Nut or Betel Nut (چکنی سپاری) is the seed of areca palm. This is one of the important commercial crops in India. It is also grown in Bangladesh, Japan, Sri Lanka, south China, the East Indies, the Philippines, and parts of Africa. The Areca nut may be used fresh, dried, or cured by boiling, baking, or roasting. Areca nut has Tannins area tannin and Gallic Acid, Terpineol, Lignin, various Saline substances. It has three main Alkaloids Arecoline, Arecaidine and Guvacine all of which have Vasoconstricting properties.
Areca nut has both pros and cons to human health and always suggest to use it as minimum as possible and only for the benefits for good health.
