Description
Daal is healthy, plain or spicy. But, this is one excellent daal you just cannot resist! comprising of two key varieties of pulses, cooked with tomatoes, and perked up with a range of carefully chosen spices, Daal is just the thing to have with hot rice and rotis.
Ingredients Of OK Daal Masala:
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Salt
- Turmeric
- Red Chilli
- Cumin Seeds
- Coriander Seeds
- Poppy Seeds
- Coconut Milk Powder
- Fenugreek Seeds
Ingredients Required:
Ingredient | Quantity |
Tomatoes | 3 medium finely chopped |
Daal Masoor | 300gm |
Daal Chana | 200gm |
Water | 6 cup |
Lemon | juice of 1 lemon |
Onion | 1-2 sliced |
Fresh Coriander Leaves | ½ cup |
Method:
- In a cooking pot add water and bring to boil, now add pulses, chopped tomatoes and OK Daal Masala, cover and cook on low flame for 20 to 30 minutes.
- When you get the required consistency switch off the flame.
- Heat oil/ghee in a pan, add sliced onion fry until it changes color then add whole spice tarka masala and stir fry for 1-2 minutes. When tarka gets ready, add powder tarka masala and stir fry for 2-3 seconds and immediately pour it into Daal, cover for few minutes then add lemon juice, fresh coriander leaves and garam masala.
- Serve with hot chapati, boiled rice, achar, salad and chopped green chillies.
